Brindisi Airport: how to get to the city center and port, and where to park

In brief: from Brindisi airport to the centre you can take the STP urban bus line AP: it runs every 30 minutes, every day from 5am to midnight, takes 10-15 minutes to the station and the ticket costs €1.20 (€2 if you buy it on board). During the day the same line also reaches the port of Costa Morena, where the ferries depart. Alternatively there are taxis, about ten car rental companies and two car parks.

Brindisi airport (officially called Aeroporto del Salento, but you'll also find it as Brindisi Papola Casale) is just a few kilometres from the centre. Getting to the city is easy, even without a car. Below you'll find how to do it, how much it costs and how long it takes, with data from the official websites of Aeroporti di Puglia and STP Brindisi.

The bus: line AP, airport, station, port

It's the most economical way, and it's also convenient: the STP Brindisi line AP runs between the airport, the railway station, the seafront (piazza Capitanerie di Porto) and the port of Costa Morena. It operates every day, with a service every 30 minutes.

  • From 8:15am to 8:45pm the bus does the full route: airport, station, piazza Capitanerie di Porto, Costa Morena.
  • From 5:00am to 7:45am and from 9:15pm to 12:15am it only runs between the airport and the station.

The ticket

STP urban ticketPrice
Single journey€1.20
Bought on board from the driver€2.00
Valid 90 minutes (two validations)€1.50
Day ticket€3.00

These are the Brindisi urban fares in force from 1 July 2024. At the airport STP indicates Bar Gelateria Sandrino as a sales point; otherwise you can buy it on board, paying a bit more.

Note about the station stop: from 12 August 2026 the piazza Crispi stop is temporarily closed. STP indicates the one to use on the right side, about 80 metres away.

The train

There's no railway station at the airport. If you need to catch a train, the easiest way is the line AP to Brindisi station: 10-15 minutes, one service every half hour.

The taxi

Outside arrivals you'll find taxis. The number indicated by the airport is Radio Taxi: +39 0831 597901. Fares are not published on the airport website: ask the price before leaving, especially if you're going out of town.

Car rental

At the airport there are desks for many car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Drivalia, Europcar, Felirent, Hertz, Locauto, Maggiore, Sicily by Car, Sixt and Autovia. For the centre of Brindisi you don't need a car (you can walk around), but it's useful if your trip is mainly about the sea or visiting the towns.

Parking at the airport

Two car parks, both outdoor and bookable online.

By bike

Puglia On Bike rents bikes and e-bikes to those arriving at the airport: you can book while organizing your trip or directly on arrival, and the bikes can also be returned at their offices in Locorotondo and Monopoli.

To other airports and Matera

Pugliairbus, the bus service of Puglia's airports operated by COTRAP, connects Brindisi airport with those of Bari, Foggia and Taranto and with Matera. Tickets can be bought online or on board, if there are seats available.

And once in the city

From the station or the seafront the historic centre can be explored on foot. If you still need to choose where to stay, we've written where to stay in Brindisi, area by area. To find out what's happening in the city during your stay there's what to do in Brindisi today and this weekend, and for the weather in the coming days Brindisi weather.
