Sailing in Brindisi: the harbour seen from the sea
An afternoon under sail outside the harbour, and back at sunset

Brindisi harbour is a long, sheltered natural inlet that made the city's fortune for two thousand years. From land you look at it from the seafront; from the sea you understand why the Romans chose this very spot. The most relaxed way to see it like that is an afternoon on a sailing boat.
What the trip is like
Afternoon is when the wind eases and the coast changes colour. You leave from the Regina Margherita seafront, sail out of the harbour and cruise gently until the sun starts to go down.
The way back is the part everyone remembers: the harbour opening up ahead, the Roman Columns at the top of the steps, and the city lighting up as you come in.
Do I need experience?
No. There are six people at most: whoever wants to can help with the manoeuvres, whoever prefers can sit back and watch. It suits a couple, a group of friends, or a solo traveller who wants to see Brindisi from a different side.

Before or after sailing
The Regina Margherita seafront is also where people in Brindisi take their evening stroll: after you're back, it's the right time for an aperitivo in the centre. If you're staying a few days, you'll find more ideas in What to see in Brindisi, and to plan your day there is Plan your day.
