How to find the cheapest flights
- Look at the whole month, not just one day: low-cost airline websites show a calendar with prices for each flight; shifting your departure by a day or two often makes a big difference.
- Book high season well in advance: July and August are the busiest months for Puglia.
- Consider the low season: May, June, September and October often have cheaper flights, and in Brindisi the sea is already, or still, warm: in September the water averages 23.8 °C, in October 20.4 °C.
- Watch out for baggage: with low-cost fares the lowest price usually includes only a small bag. Adding luggage when booking costs less than at the airport.
From the airport to Brindisi city centre
Brindisi airport is officially called Aeroporto del Salento and is just a few kilometres from the centre. The cheapest way to reach the city is the STP local bus that connects the airport to the train station and, during the day, to the port; alternatively there are taxis and car rentals. If you want to explore Salento, a rental car is the most convenient choice: Lecce is 35 minutes away, Ostuni 40, Otranto just over an hour.
