The motobarca is the most Brindisi way to cross the harbour. It links the centre to the Casale quarter, and it was already running in 1897, when the priest Pasquale Camassa, in his guide to Brindisi, described the Santa Maria boat, whose toll went to the Archbishop.
Today it has an engine and stops at the Montenegro quay, the Stazione Marittima and the Villaggio Pescatori; on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays also at the Monumento al Marinaio. The fare is small.
Take it even if you're not going anywhere: it's the cheapest harbour tour there is, and few people in Brindisi have resisted it.
