Beneath the church of Santa Lucia you go down into the Basilian crypt, one of the oldest spaces in Brindisi: it dates from the eighth century. Four columns with decorated capitals divide it into three small naves, and thirteenth-century frescoes survive on the walls.
It's an intimate, quiet space: take a few minutes.
