You won't see Trajan's Well: it lies a couple of metres below the paving, in the middle of the little square, where today there is just a manhole cover.
More than a well, it was a large store of drinking water, fed by a spring-fed water table and partly by the aqueduct. It is named after the emperor Trajan, under whom it was built.
