The Dolphin Fountain stands in the gardens of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, near the port. It dates from 1876 and was part of the nineteenth-century work on the aqueduct; it has been moved several times, most recently because of work on the road to the station.
The design is simple and successful: on a circular rose rises a marble basin with three dolphins, which pour water into the basin, and from there the water falls through four spouts into the pool below.
